Condition in Google Shopping feeds

Condition declares whether the item is new, refurbished or used. Google requires it for anything that is not new, and shoppers can filter by it. Sending the wrong condition is a misrepresentation issue, which is treated more seriously than a data error.

How this app fills it

• The feed wide default is new, set in the Detail tab.
• Any single product can override its condition from the Products page, which suits stores with a small used or open box section.

Dos

• Leave the default at new for a standard retail catalog.
• Override per product for refurbished or used stock.
• Use refurbished only for professionally restored items that carry a warranty and sell as functionally new.

Don'ts

• Don't sell used goods labeled as new. This risks account suspension, not just item disapproval.
• Don't use refurbished for open box items that were simply returned. Those are used.
